Qwo Cellulite Treatment: Everything You Need to Know

Qwo Cellulite Treatment: Everything You Need to Know

Nearly 90% of women develop cellulite during their lifetime.

Some lifestyle modifications may help you prevent cellulite but there’s no guarantee to prevent cellulite from appearing. There is, however, a promising new FDA-approved treatment! It’s called Qwo cellulite treatment and it’s indicated for moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women.

Introducing Your Worst Enemy – Cellulite

Maybe “worst enemy” is a little dramatic but cellulite can keep you from wearing certain clothing or feeling comfortable in a bathing suit. So, what is cellulite anyway and where does it come from?

Cellulite is a change in the appearance of the skin usually found around the thighs and buttocks. It causes the skin to look dimpled resembling an orange peel or cottage cheese (not cute – we know!).

The exact cause of cellulite is unknown. But the most likely theory is that over time the skin thins and fat cells get larger. When the cells push against the skin, the fibrous bands of tissue under the skin’s surface causes tension and the appearance of cellulite.

Cellulite may have a genetic component, meaning there’s not much you can do to prevent it from showing up. It’s more common for older women than younger women but the appearance of cellulite can happen as early as puberty for some women.

There are 3 grades of cellulite severity – mild, moderate, and severe. Severity is based on the number of depressions in the skin.

Qwo Cellulite Treatment

For years, women have been using topical creams, foams, and lotions as treatments for cellulite. Finally, there is a better solution – Qwo!

Qwo is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment for moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women. It is a non-surgical aesthetic treatment that can reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Qwo injections are done in a doctor’s office. The treatment requires three injections over the course of nine weeks.

How Qwo Works

Qwo is a liquid solution injected into cellulite depressions (dimples). Once injected, the solution works by releasing the fibrous bands under the skin, causing the dimpled skin to release too. The result is a smoother appearance and less noticeable cellulite.

Benefits of Qwo

The biggest benefit of Qwo is that it’s non-surgical – no anesthesia or scarring involved. The injections are safe and can be performed by a doctor in about 10 minutes. The treatment can reduce the appearance of cellulite and help you feel more comfortable when swimsuit season rolls around.

Am I a Good Candidate for Qwo?

If you are a healthy adult female with moderate to severe cellulite you could be a good candidate for Qwo. Qwo does not reduce or remove fat from the body. Research shows that Qwo works for different skin types and skin tones.

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or plan on becoming pregnant you should not pursue treatment at this time.

Recovery After Qwo

After Qwo injections you can resume normal activities. You may want to avoid strenuous exercise the day of your treatment. Some women experience bruising, tenderness, and itching around the injection site.

The side effects last about two weeks and tend to be milder after each treatment. Your doctor may recommend Tylenol to manage side effects.

When Will I See Results?

You will notice results from your Qwo treatment in about three to six weeks but results vary from person to person. Some women noticed some change to the appearance of cellulite within a few days after treatment.

Will I Need More Injections?

Much like other cellulite treatments, the results of your Qwo treatment will not last forever. Over time, the fibrous band causing the cellulite will grow back.

However, the clinical trials with Qwo are showing more promising long-term results. Some women in the trial experienced results lasting as long as two and a half years!

How Much Does Qwo Cost?

Each session costs between $700 to $1,000. The cost will depend on the severity of the cellulite (number of areas that need treatment). Many offices allow you to pay for each session individually rather than paying the whole amount on the date of the first appointment.

Can Qwo Be Used on Other Areas of the Body?

Right now Qwo is FDA approved for use in the buttocks. It is being used off label for treatment of the thighs.

Say Buh-Bye Cellulite

Qwo cellulite treatment could be exactly what you’re looking for to reduce the appearance of cellulite and have you looking and feeling your very best.
